To protect itself from Tyrannopede:

Growing to not get fully stuck in it's web, armor to go against it's powerful jaws, and Greater strength helps it go toe to toe with it

That does sound like a good idea but I'm hoping that those counter abilities don't totally protect Humongousaur from Tyrannopede. Tyrannopede is a Vaxasaurian predator for the reason of being able to get the upper hand on Vaxasuarian abilities. To make ways that Humongousaur can get around those predator abilities defeats the purpose of Tyrannopede all together.

Actually not really. Many prey animals have defense mechanisms that protect them from predators like Armadillo rolling up, Zebras stripes, spiked lizard blood shooters, etc.

Scientifically speaking, if Ben"s aliens had NO way to protect themselves, they all would've gone extinct.

You are right in that case but those are 100% guaranteed to protect them. My train of thought is that if Humongousaur gains abilities that will counteract Tyrannopede's then it will lead to Evolutionary Escalation. The predator evolving new ways to kill Vaxasaurians and Vaxasaurians developing/evolving new ways to survive being killed by their predator.

Well there's about a million things out in the wilderness that could kill us and we're not extinct. I think it's the same way for aliens, their predators are not as intelligent as they are so the aliens have developed civilizations or methods so they hardly ever have to see or interact with their predators.

FAir points, but lets remember; they have super powers as well. And the armor is more to protect them when they do get the chance to get bigger. The tyrannopedes would likely go for the lighter parts, which are less protected from his armor. So if it gets a good bite at his neck, that's a game over.

Basically speaking, the armor only protects the parts of the body htat are in the darker hsade of brown area, but the area that's lighter brown (neck to torso) are less protected except by thick muscle, which likely won't help if they get tangled up in the webs.

Yeah but their super powers only seem like it to us, but to them it's only their natural abilities. I am in favor of the idea that their armor is used to protect them but it's not a full proof way of protecting themselves.

Yeah that's what I was going for when I drew this, his outer armor can protect him but the soft side underneath is tough but an exposed area of weakness

True...maybe it's like an Armordillo's armor in erms of something like the Tyrannopede? You know, good for protecting against bites but only onthe armored parts. Thus unless  they can web them up, they have to go agains them in a face to face fight. The armor on the back makes it hard to do sneak attacks.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Also I think that Tyrannopede's webbing can be used to get Vaxasuarians trapped in a way that makes their unarmored sides exposed.
