The mane is called mane_scratch_old.smd and it's using textures called hairback, hairfront and curls. I don't think the UV matters much since the mane only has one color
Oh and the jigglebone data I used for it, since none of the QCs are using that mane: pastebin.com/qsSpyEyz

Basically for every texture the model is looking for, there is supposed to be a material file. Copy and recolor the textures from other models that are using the same parts, and copy and edit the material files so that the model knows where to look for them.

I'm sure there is a good amount of people who know what they want from a model but don't know how to do it. Everyone is a beginner once and what would be easier way to change models appearance than making a new texture or adding some nice effects to the skin? At least it's easier than modeling and some material knowledge is always required in all modeling projects.

That's the thing, I've already made an OC of mine a few days ago using this tutorial www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHNzs7… And as far as i know none of the models have the mane for me to recolour ;w; I've got the mane shape to successfully show up on "model viewer" on SFM though 
Can you show a picture of how far you've got? Also we can take this to notes, I have a feeling this is going to be a long chain
