I also work with wood(sculptor) and know a lot of people who do in a variety of ways, but I've never seen something like this before!  It's a matter of taste of course (like everything else too ) if someone hangs it on the wall or not, but it's for sure a very unique and absolutely great work! ...specially the lively layers and the small details. If the plywood had known that it once will show a tale !!
