I dabbled a bit in animation in my school days way back when (I had plans of getting a degree in game art and design, but it didn't work out.) It can be tricky at first, but once one gets the concept and studies enough reference, it comes together logically. Make one set of poses that work, then copy them but switch the limbs and you've got a walk cycle.

I bet it's really difficult! Will you make more of these?

I do want to give her a full range of movements. I've roughed out ideas for her running, crouching, jumping, executing many kinds of kick attacks and of course, shooting. :)

I won't say it's easy--took quite a bit of self-teaching to even get to this point, but the challenge is making the animations smooth by creating enough frames and posing her effectively. Since this is built from a character rig in Flash that I just move the parts around with (which means little to no redrawing), it's just trial and error with the poses, not really hard per se.

I've been wanting to take on the challenge of making better animations and more characters for some time now. It's one of my numerous passionate interests.

I'm just a crazy guy who likes to teach himself anything that seems remotely interesting, whether he intends to apply it to something practical or not... ^^;

So not crazy. It's a great thing.
