Especially after Milah went strait into hate mode when he came back home after crushing his foot. First his father tries to leave him (and gets killed so he doesn't even have a chance to change his mind and come back so we don't know if he would have) and then Milah starts telling him he should have died in battle. Oh, and then there's all the people who talked bad about him his whole life because of what his father did... and then they got even worse after he left the battlefeild.
I can understand why he is so addicted to magic. He feels worthless without it. Because just about everybody has treated him like he is his whole life.
