And personally, I would enjoy 40K infinitely much more if GW would just please stop over-hyping Space Marines to such an absurd degree. 1 (ONE FREAKING ONE) *under-strength* chapter of 1000 marines (who were, again, not to full strength) managed to not only find and BOARD an Eldar Craftworld of millions, but also kill everyone (IN THE ELDAR'S OWN HOMELAND) and destroy it. (!)

*HOW* can you possibly explain how they pull that off? Worse yet *several* other Craftworlds responded to this with a counter-attack and this COMBINED ATTACK was also defeated - again by the under-strength'ed Marine Chapter, and of course, without backup.

Yeah. Sure. This is simply put the worst offence I've heard of thus far in the GW-led "SM's can't be stopped and don't bother collecting any other army from 40K ever, they are all cannon-fodder, really" campaign they have been leading the last few years. While I keep wondering what they hope to achieve with this, when in the end people either only collect marines or stop playing 40K at all, the bigger question to me right now would be where you have this info from?

Where was this story written down or where is the source of this info? I would really like to see/read for myself how this scenario can even be excused.

@ Artist - apologies for the slight rant, this is a pet-peeve of mine. Your art is frankly awesome, and I have no critiques to offer as I can find nothing wrong with it. Keep up the awesome work <3

You realize there's only about a million Space Marines and the plot relies on them being the main thing keeping humanity alive, right?  They HAVE to be over-hyped or else the entire setting falls apart.  Heck, it could be argued the setting was made specifically to make Space Marines look good.

i m not sure but i feel you messing some GW barely aproved autors of wh40k with seriously taked wh40k autors and writters...ye there are some shity bookss and stories with total op marines....but when you stick to seriouse things like dan abnett or king...or even codexes... they are not so immortal...

It's very weird. The numbers simply doesn't match. In Ciaphas Cain novel, a group of 5 Khorne Bezerkers killed 1000 cultists, suffering the loss of 3. There is FUCKING NO WAY a group of 100 SPACE MARINE can slaughter 1.000.000 Orks like we all know. And there is also no such thing as 100 Chaos Space Marines can conquer an entire world with many millions PDF.
A world of 5 billions should have at least 100 millions PDF, yet there are only thousands when it is invaded. Where are the FUCKING OTHERS? Authors can't be bothered to add them, of course.

yes exactly...100 marines cant coquer the planet....artilery, nuclear missels airforces tank divisions it will simply kill them...its impossible:) ye they can be deployed somewhere and make a big mess there no doubt, but conquer whole world....bullshit

They can if they kill everyone from orbit, lol.  Astartes would only need to take out serious threats to their ships and let the navy do the rest.

Which couldn't be done without the Marines making it possible.  Otherwise, we wouldn't have any battles inside the range of a planet since fighting would be pointless as no one could take a world without overwhelming losses to their naval power.  Resulting in their enemies wrecking a lot of their commerce and logistics.

Saying "You didn't win, the navy did because all you did is destroy the shields and weapons enough for the navy is like saying the Marines on D-Day don't deserve credit for the victory because ultimately it was battleships moving into shallow water and blowing everything up that won the day.  In fact, it is EXACTLY like that, just in space.  With far fewer Space Marine casualties because they're supersoldiers.  Unless you treat the Imperial Guard as the US Marine replacement in this analogy).  Except in this case, the ships can't blow the crap out of everything either because A) the defenses are too great until the Space Marines or Guard makes it possible, or B) the Imperium wants to keep that planet mostly intact and so can't just go blamming away at it.  The first is like D-Day.  The second is like winning D-Day with little or no naval support beyond aircraft well as the  logistics and reinforcements by Higgins boat.

Fact is, whether you believe it or not, the Marines win anyway in the fluff.  Usually.  It is safe to say there is either Warp shenanigans regarding their gene-seed or some sort of quantum geno-lulwut happening with it.  Because their power without counting the powered armor is impossible for someone their size, yet they have it anyway.  The first might explain some things regarding falling to Chaos...

in that case it is more like a navy conquered the world, not a marines ....
