You know that's not canon, right? I mean about the battle. Since in the game you are him, you can win the same you can lose.
How is it non-canon? It happened. The player defeating Red is how the game ends.
It would be canon if that's the only result possible, you defeating Red yes or yes. But as I said before, you can also lose against him, then you try again until beating him or losing another hundred times. It is NOT decisive, thus why it's not canon either.
Also, challenging Red doesn't change the game at all. I've seen many players didn't even know he was at Mt. Silver until told so.
