I think I was trying to get a dynamic going between the 'brothers' Sunstreaker and Sideswipe by having Sunstreaker joking about 'leaving him at home'. The joke could work between Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker too I guess, but I'll leave it as some banter between brothers for the moment.

Well, it's my take on how the Maximal insignia first came to be. Like everything else to do with my writing, it has a known end-point in what we see in Beast Wars, so I have to give it a creative genesis.
