Oh Yes. That's always been one of the things that fascinated about pre-WWII American Politics, there's this strong sense that nothing beyond the sea matters to America, something particularly notable in the leftist movement which ran from no intervention ever to let's go invade those suckers and bring them America. I doubt the situation in Europe is very good, although I'm not sure what I'd do with it. Something was going to break in the Old World by 1914 (I've just been reading Roosevelt's letters and things from that era, he seems to take this as an obvious conclusion of what he saw from his 1910 trip to Europe).
