Ahh, Event Horizon. That was a bizarre film. I went in expecting a nice little scifi tale about black holes and whatnot and was greeted instead by quite the over-the-top gore-fest. It had lots of interesting ideas and a great cast, but wasn't quite my thing (I think the vivisection was what pushed it over the edge for me...)

Anyway, no, I didn't see that movie until probably a year or so after I painted this. But it doesn't really surprise me if there are similarities in this or other works; glowing eyes and branded bodies aren't exactly original or unique on my part..
