Yeah...perhaps it`s because of the impressive size and epic figure of the monster (although the book`s balrogs doesn`t look like the movie`s demon at all...yes, I also didn`t oversimplify
).

The Balrog is impressive, and the one Glorfindel fought was twice his size, but what with Durin's Bane in LOTR, there are a lot of Balrog images about, and I would prefer to see a lot more Glorfindel.
