My players had an comm officer in their ship that didn't had eyes. He born in a planet so dark that humans evolved to become eyeless and with a radar-like sense, almost like bats. He was the most unsettling abhuman they ever met 
That's nice. one of my players is a veteran of the Tranch-wars. He has a really bad attitude against mutants. I think he would have tried to kill this poor officer instantly on first sight while he screamed:"Oh my god! They are back again! Kill, kill, kill 'em all!!"

Well, my players were quite suspicious of the guy... the line between mutant and abhuman is quite thin
My players have developed a healthy paranoia. Most of our campaigns end unexcpected. For this reason they tend to shot everybody who is NOT suspicious, because everybody who is not suspicious HAS TO BE an evil. (... but they accepted their arch enemy in disguise as a loyal acolythe. That keeps me smiling everytime my Psyker sends his "acolythe" to a mission. In one or two month I will reveal the secret. )

And the female guardswoman... well, she died after stepping over a mine and her new character (yes, the player is a girl and only plays as guardswomen...) didn't saw enough to be insane... yet
