Tolkien Estate refuses to let go the rights, so it wont be happening anytime soon :S
Well they said none of Tolkien' works could be dramatize at all since the 40s & 50s, but it happened. So you never know, beside Hollywood has made far worst decisions in what gets made & what doesn't.
I want a "Beren and Luthien" movie, but given the current state of Hollywood, I shudder to think what they'd make of it.
