I didn't even LIKE The Dark knight Returns!
Yet Batman-fanboys think that it "proves" that Batman can "kick Superman's ass."
... Even though he had three broken ribs, his suit(his HEAVILY ARMORED suit) had been torn apart, and he was dangerously close to death; plus he had the help of an atomic bomb, Green Arrow, kryptonite, and weeks of prep-time while Superman(who, despite being facepalmingly OOC, was holding-back for the entire fightsomething that Batman's whole plan was dependent on.) had none... yet he had to fake his own death just to end the fight.

And, mainstream-wise, even BATMAN admits Superman could destroy him if he actually wanted to. Clark even once scanned Bruce's gadgets and figured out all their weaknesses!

More like they're either too young, too dumb, or simply uneducated about what actually happened in these stories.
Most of what I know about that fight comes from the animated movie and Angry Joe's "Top 10 Reasons Why Superman Beats Batman" video... although I'll admit that, even before then, I was still rather skeptical(especially concerning the "outcome").
Not only that, but he's also found numerous ways to improve said gadgets and make them more efficient and effective. Plus, the greater abundance of alien-tech gadgets and weaponry in Supes' Fortress of Solitude out-class Batman's in both tech-level and power.
