Too bad Blizzard had to come up with Warlords of Draenor soon after I made this map and immediately decanonize it. Or rather, make it impossible to be canon, since it was never technically was and I was mostly filling the gaps in official lore. I have this kind of luck with Blizzard - I come up with something, and Blizzard immediately comes up with their version. I tell myself "great minds think alike" to make myself feel better.

I had no concrete plans for stuff beyond Behemoth Jungle. It was meant to be a "here there be dragons" place inhabitants of most of the continent never visited and had many weird stories about, like terrifying mythical creatures called "bears", still flying arakkoa (which were extinct for centuries in my version of Old Draenor) and orcs with no head and a face in their chest. Those stories would be mostly untrue. I left it there to give a sense that there is a world out there beyond the immediately relevant areas, much like official WoD map had the coastline of the ogre continent mapped out.

I can imagine that it would be quite disappointing - you clearly put a ton of work into this.

As an aside, how long did it take? Would you consider a project like this again?

I keep thinking about what else I could do, because this is the most popular thing I've ever done. My first thought was Old Kalimdor (which I stopped when I heard about the Chronicle and considered it would have maps of Old Kalimdor - and it did). After that, I thought about maps of the realms of the Nexus (from Heroes of the Storm) but then I heard devs have their internal maps for those realms and I'm once again reluctant to do something that will be soon contradicted.

So right now I have no idea what else I could do regarding maps of unseen places (that would actually matter for Warcraft fans). One other thing I can think of is K'aresh, which another guy around here has a lot of headcanon for, so I don't wanna get onto his turf, so that's about it.

Hmm...I'm trying to think, so if my comment comes off as pompous or presumptuous, then I truly apologize.

But if you're still interested in Warcraft, and have the time...have you considered searching for canon lore about Argus?

There is very, very little on Argus. We have very short general descriptions of landscape, and the name of the capital. That's it. If we ever visit Argus in WoW and get some maps of present day, ruined Argus, I might attempt some maps of Triumvirate Era Argus... but it might be years before that happens so don't hold your breath.
