It would have been traditional animation....I mean...anime is a style of traditional animation.  So the characters that looked more anime would have been animated more anime and the characters that look more american style would have been animated more american style.  At the time this came out, I was talking a lot about american anime as something I wanted to do and this worked perfectly for that idea.
