I don't usually go on DeviantART anymore... However when I see someone post such an ill-informed comment I can't help but to log in and say something... If you look at his profile, he's started with a sketch, he's referred to the style that he's trying to achieve from this artwork and also, the tutorial uses pre-made swirls and decorations to add to the text, however he sketched his out and used the sketch as reference...
Next time don't be so quick to declare that someone just used a tutorial and make sure you're not wrong first =)

I didn't imply that he used the tutorial. My point is that this is old and overused.

If there's a tutorial for making something similar to what he did, only so much faster, it's simply dead work.

Your arguments mean nothing to a real artists, because they mean nothing to a real customer. Who cares if he did all of this himself and took hours and hours for sketches, developing the idea and finally coming out with this final output if I can do the same in 30 minutes with the help of this tutorial and also everyone else too. A customer doesn't care if you took 10 minutes or 10 days for a picture, also he wouldn't notice the slightest difference between the two results. No matter how hard you worked on something, if it's not original and unique it's not worth shit.
