This was a long post, but so much word to what you said! The character arcs for all the main people by and large did not work. And what was Elsa doing for all those years? Shouldn't she have been taking monarch lesson or something? And where on earth were all the servants?

Ah well! Thanks for linking the review, that and this conversation have been quite cathartic in dealing with my post-Frozen "why is this film so popular?!?" feelings! 
That... is a very, very good question. 
I started watching the movie again, and it really does have interesting elements in it, but on the whole I find it a frustrating misfire. Well, at least I enjoy the fandom.
