My family used to have a strawberry bush, an apple tree, and a peach tree in the backyard.  The strawberry bush was good, though it sometimes it had thorns.  I can't really remember eating any peaches from the peach tree because groundhogs always shuffled their cute little chubby butts up the tree and ate all the peaches.  But the apple tree was different.  A lot of times, apples would fall to the ground and be completely rotten and full of insects.  Sometimes they would be eaten by insects even when they were still on the tree.  There was really no way of eating any of those apples from the ground.  It would just make people sick.

For many years, I wanted to live in San Francisco as an ESL professor in a community college, but recently I changed my mind.  I want to teach in Afghanistan.  I'm sure that it will be hot enough there, and I won't have to worry about allergies because there are no allergens in deserts.  I once went to Las Vegas, and the moment I stepped off the plane, my sinuses cleared.
