Oh, and while I'm at it, do you know any good techniques for showing scars on fur, say a dog/horse/cat traditionally? Weird question, yes, but I'm sick of my scars looking like pink lines. 
Well only fresh scars are pink, or only pink on areas with white markings and pink skin. Normally if a scar is permenant and large enough to be visible after the first year the scar will be seen as the skin tone and free of hair, or will start to grow white hairs on the scar site. normally i do a mixture of the two depending on each scar.
