Yes, here the water is very warm and Alghero has many popular resorts. The part you see there, though, is definitely not up for swimming because there's nothing between the 180-high cliff (the one from which I shot the photo) and the water below. No beaches and no way to get there. 
Canada has many interesting places to visit, though! It's one of the country I would love to visit the most. I come from a country rich in forests and the thought of Canadian forests recalls that and makes me feel nostalgia.
