Yeah.... I know... It's just not my think... Then again... Fluffy fanfics are sometimes wonderful. :)
And I usually write whatever is in my head... And that usually depends on the scene that it is. :)
Quite recently I wrote a few happish, less dark, things, and both made me happy, so...

I love to write, so the longer the assignment is, hehe... The happier I am... I disagree when they give you a small limit... Like 1500 words... TOO EASY AND SHORT!!!

Yeah... I listen to music a lot, especially when I'm doing home work and... Writing.
I keep trying, and I have gotten some ok words, I'm just not that great with making up a tune... Though sometime I steal a tune and put it to that.
I'll look it up. I've actually always wanted to read it. :)

But what's in your head will change as you grow and change, and if you're really lucky you will never stop changing.

Ooh, with small limits the thing to do is cram as much goodness into that space as possible. It's only easy if you let it be easy, there are people who restrict themselves to a certain word count as part of the challenge.

Good luck, with prose or poetry or whatever.

That's very true... :) I go back and read what I wrote when I was about 12... I die every time I read it. It is sooo bad. So when I reread it I think of ways to change it. :) so that's a good thing.

An that is a good point. Usually those sorts of things turn into the beginnings of stories. Cliff hanger endings and such. :)

Thanks

Woah, hey, post the stuff from when you were 12! If you have it, why not post it? You could put it in its own folder to make sure everyone knows it's your earlier work, and then maybe having old stuff up would inspire you to write and post new stuff. You know, like ... to show you've improved. And there are 12 year old writers on DA, I'm sure of it, so you can't say it would be bad because you were young. And I will critique the very worst piece and find something nice to say about it ... or I'll try anyway.

No!!! It's a story that I'm embarrassed about... I would, but.... No.... I know that I have improved... A lot...
And I know that there are 12 year old writers, and some of it is pretty good...
For now I'll keep it to the more recent stuff. :)

Maybe a little later when I have posted good stuff then I will post the bad stuff...

Hm, interesting reaction. Maybe you're so embarrassed by the older stuff that you can't write new stuff, for fear that it will be just as bad. Maybe if you post the old stuff to get over that embarrassment, you will find it easier to write the new stuff. Yep, I bet that's it. Don't worry, it's pretty likely that no one will see it even after you post it; very few people take the time to read lit on DA, not when there's stuff to look at. And if it helps you ... why not? It can't be more embarrassing than some of the other lit you will find on DA.

No, it's not that... I want to change it... I just haven't had the time and... Well... Quite frankly... I don't know... There are some things that I don't like people to read... It's like not wanting people to go through your phone.... It's not that I'm embarrassed that it is so horrible... I can write just fine... Despite that...
I guess I feel awkward about it because of what it's about...

Lemme guess ... Sex, drugs or rock'n'roll?

You have it and you could post it, but you don't because you don't want people to see it before it's ready to be seen, do I have that right? But that's all of writing, nothing is perfect; if you keep it to yourself until it is "ready" you may never post it at all. I post things online because that's how I might be able to get editing and peer critique, the things that will make it better or even maybe "ready." And the better I get at writing, thanks to people responding to my "unfinished" works, the more "ready" my fresh work will be. The cost of learning to write may just be embarrassment.

If you're still unsure, you could share it with me privately via Stash. I might even have a piece or two back in my gallery to rival it.
