I can't wait to see his rewrite, but Steph really isn't difficult but I would like to see what you do with her story and why he's trans.
I was thinking about why Steph would be trans-gender, my only idea is she always believed that she is a woman, always liked more "girly" things, and just wasn't happy with her self as a male.

What was her name before she changed it to Steph? And did he support Steph liking girly things when she was younger or tried to steer her into toher things that just never worked out?
Now her name was Arin (Totally not the first thing to pop into my head), and Adrian still got her boy clothing and toys when she was still a toddler, but later she didn't really refuse, but just showed she didn't like them and when they went shopping would like the more "girly" clothes. for her teenage years she just wore baggy clothes, and other things to alter her apperence to look more like the person she wanted to be
