Taretha: Oh no, gods and goddesses in the mahou galaxy are essentially just really powerful elementals.  When the joy I spread to others became so profound that I myself WAS the very face of joy in the eyes of people, that's what made me ascend.  It's a bit vague but that's basically how it works.
