toc toc... may I join the conversation ?? Just to say that one should NEVER leave alone any art works not even for a simple second....
ALWAYS keep a portfolio (is this the right name ?? in italian it's CARTELLA) UNDER YOUR ARM.
I have been stolen as well, even worst : years ago a young woman came in the atelier, made such a long enthousiastic fuss about a big painting of mine. I beleived her. She said she would have payed each month. So I gave her (STUPID LIVIA) the big painting (cm150x120), made her sign a recipy with the details of the payments, said good bye to the tableau and since then... I NEVER SAW a penny. I led a pursuit (hope you understand my messy english!) and after several months, the office of pursuites wrote to me saying that.... madame had strictly nothing in her life because so poor. I told them I didnt care about that, i didnt want money nor her sofa, but only MY painting back. But I learnt she had definitevely left Villeneuve, going away WITH my painting. And that's that, so even law is useless. We are bound to all sorts of illegal accidents. Lesson number one : LEARN HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELVES, STICK TO YOUR WORKS, NEVER BELEIVE ANYBODY. Sorry for intrusion, but since I'm jolly older than you I thought I HAD to tell you all this....
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES !
