It's not so much I'm telling you that you need to keep the character. The concept of the contest is to draw an OC, existing or otherwise, in the theme of a video game. We aren't telling you to create a whole new character, you could just be drawing a pony with a theme! By no means are we telling you to make a character that you won't keep.
Entering a contest with the mindset that you won't win isn't appealing. Many people make characters and sell them afterward because they didn't win. If you'd sold the adoptable before the contest, wouldn't that just make it an adoptable?
Bottom line, this isn't a character design contest. It's a "draw a picture with a theme" contest. It's not a valid entry because you made it with the intent to sell it, not the intent to make an entry for this contest.

I could try and draw a picture of him if that makes you feel better, although my drawings of ponies suck in my oppinion, nightshrowd7-17.deviantart.com… see what I mean, the proportions are all wrong and even the eye's are not right....
well does Rexxy still count, cause he is mine and he is themed after a video game...besides I've read through the rules and it doesn't state adoptables are not allowed, why should I be getting basically told these designs won't work cause their adoptables, when it clearly doesn't state anywhere on there that adoptables are not allowed...
I should add that to the rules. :C I'm sorry, I figured people would kind of understand that. In reply to your other comment, as long as you draw another image of him and don't use the adoptable. Your drawings are fine, to me! You have your own style, which is great. ouo
