You're totally right about the layer fx for the main title, watermonster. If I'd had just a little more time, I would have done the title exactly like the compass rose--"gold" with hand-stippling. Unfortunately, I'd been working on the map all month and the contest was coming down to the wire. I had to just put it out there. I know it clashes a little. Maybe I'll fix it up when I have time.
