Comment on Prostitute Geisha by cellar-fcp

Reminds me of some of the stories I used to hear about geishas that wandered Yokohana back in  the day (The pronunciation of the floating island city maybe a bit off)  This girl is most likely a slave, sold to a house by poor parents, who then hopefully ended up spendign the best years of their life paying off their own debt with their bodies.  Of course, by then, they were oftentimes too old to go do anything else but the one thing theyd been trained to do...

Not all geishas did this though, of course, but still this makes this is both a beautiful, yet soulcrushingly sad picture to me, for those stories, and only accenuates the delicate beauty more.  Yokohana was very much a transient island of dreams...
