Hm. I'd think Durmstrang was closer to Arendelle; girls do attend Durmstrang, and there are boys at Beauxbatons, whatever the movies might say. I mean, Durmstrang is stated to be "in the far North" by Hermione because their uniforms involve fur coats, and Bulgaria is only one of the countries that attend Durmstrang. Durmstrang would have to be further north than the UK for her to say that and much further than Bulgaria, meaning it would be somewhere in Norway/Sweden/Finland, possibly Russia, but my theory has always been that it's in Norway.

*shrug* Of course, it's high-possible they chose to go to Beauxbatons because they didn't like Durmstrang's rep, as it's always had a bad rep. It wasn't just Karkaroff that gave it a bad rep; it was pretty a century before Karkaroff was Headmaster. We know students can do that. Malfoy says as much, because his father was going to choice him to Durmstrang, and we know from Deathly Hallows that some students learnt at home. Perfectly plausible.

You raise an interesting point :D Hahaha. I've always associated Durmstrang with Russia because of the two-headed eagle which is a heraldic symbol of the Russian Empire. J.K.Rowling kind of put me off with all of the confusion regarding Durmstrang location. I'm pretty sure though that's in Russia but on the very very edge of it,closer to where Finland/Norway is,if you know what I mean.

In any case my AU is not about what would fit best based on geography and such xD I just can't see Elsa and Anna being part of Durmstrang.

I know there's evidence of girls attending there, but I can't see those two there. They are far too gentle and I just don't dig the vibe. Also I feel like Frozen and the Kingdom Arendelle itself is quite unique so I decided to have them attend Beauxbatons. I do however plan on doing a Hogwarts version of the sisters.

On the other hand I do have a character who does attend Durmstrang who's also a female - Eep from the Croods.

Oh, I always forget about their emblem, cuz it's not discussed in the books like Beauxbatons XD In my head it always looks like the Ferrari emblem because of the colours. I always did wonder how a tiny school like Durmstrang was able to accommodate Russia, Bulgaria, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, the Ukraine, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, and Lithuania. Cuz I think Beauxbatons only sees students from western Europe like Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, and Switzerland, despite having a large palace. Something about them just makes me think only European countries known for producing exceptional beauties attend Beauxbatons. Maybe it's the name of the school or just because of Fleur I think this.

True enough XD I figured you knew Durmstrang wasn't an all-boys school/Beaxubatons an all-girls, but at the same time, I wanted to clarify for anyone else reading my comment, since people tend to forget the movies are prone to getting things wrong. Not once in 13 years have I forgiven them for changing Ravenclaw's house colours and mascot, for instance.

'Course, we also never find out what happened to Durmstrang after the fall of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Slytherin became a lot less dark and more friendly, it seems. A lot less hostile. Though Anna and Elsa would be there long before even Grindlewald came into power so... moot point xD

They also work at Beauxbatons because, I think, of Fleur's descriptions of Beauxbatons at Chrismtastime. She mentions having ice sculptures that are "like 'uge statues of diamond" and a chorus of wood nymphs that serenade them. Their uniforms are also pale blue silk, so there's that. Goes with Elsa's dress.

Aesthetically, they definitely fit Beauxbatons, but geographically, they'd probably attend Durmstrang. I guess. XD But like I said, they could easily choice in to Beauxbatons.
