I love modern digital camera technology for that reason. :camera: I do like to go to manual mode, though...

Yep! I only ever shoot in manual. I'm too much of a control freak to do otherwise. ;)

In the field, auto mode will save one's bacon. Also, computers can fix a host of imaging ills as long as the focus is tight and the ISO is not too high for the sensor in question. However, I love shooting in manual mode when I actually have the luxury and time to do so. Most of my field images are rather spontaneous. I usually have no time to set up for the frame. I have to walk through there framing stuff in my eye in a feeble attempt to get it on the card like I saw it in real life as I raise my gadget to shoot. Dang, no matter what mode used, that is a really hard thing to do, especially out in black bear country!
