I think your bit about NASA is really dumb. Honestly, NASA is public domain. On their wbesite it says public domain. To be used by anyone for any reason, personal or commercial. Your issue w/ it is purely *personal*, not legal and shouldn't be a rule at all. I can understand your reasoning but when you have these rules up for valid, legal reasons (like y'know, protecting artists from art theft), but with NASA, it's not protecting anyone. It's just your preference, not an actual issue of artistic integrity.
