it is a heart-warming thing to see artists such as you on their journey of growth. many people simply find a comfortable place, then stop learning there.
I've stayed in that comfortable place for quite some time actually... I've been drawing only when I felt like it, I just let it happen. Only recently did I start to kinda... make myself do it.
that's very good to hear. life does that to us sometimes, derails us. the sooner we get back on the horse the better. actually, progress and learning in artistic endeavors benefits us in many other ways, also. most everybody on this website displaying their efforts, ESPECIALLY childish, juvenile looking things (i do not mean yours), gives me inspiration and encouragement to do things myself. so, thank you for your work.
