Thanks so much ^^ I usually gravitate to colors that are more or less of a pastel nature, not too saturated, and from there I select shades that are a little richer in color for shading. All the while, I'll use the little color picker tool to select colors I've added and then slightly alter that so I can do blending. I don't know if that's a good explanation or not, but I assure you that my methods are usually nothing too complicated ( I honestly wish I knew more about colors and their relationships, so that I could really try extravagant combinations, I tend to just play it safe XD).
