On the whole marine thing, its a marine thing dont worry about it.

On communism, given that everyone in the society was lobatomized and programmed, it would work just fine. However, the system fails to accomadate basic human nature, which is that the path of least resistance. Basically, if you don't have to work hard to do something you not going to, you'll always take the easiest way out (in the military we use this to funnel the enemy into the killzones of our machine guns.) A true capitalist society (which america isn't by the way) there are no classes ethier because the best man (or women) will use thier skill/tact/persistence to get ahead of the next guy. This creates a competitive society where the best will rise to the top and the not so great will ethier end up working for the best or, if thier lazy, starve to death and die. Is that kind of harsh, yes it is, but thats how nature has worked for millions of year. As an example, look at a herd of deer, the slow and stupid deer are eaten by wolves while the stonger , smarter deer survive and reproduce. While this solution sucks for the some, it makes the herd stronger as a whole. Now, in america, there are a slew safty nets to make sure no one starves. However, this system makes america weaker because it teaches people that they can be lazy and useless and still get by. In a communist society this problem is compounded. The system which dictates that everything is shared equaly and nothing is owned or possessed mean s that people who work hard will not be treated any different than a dead beat. This results in no one wanting to work because there is no reward for doing so. I mean, would you really work for something if you knew the fat ass that sat on his rear all day would be given the exact same thing as you. I know I wouldn't. I causes the society to either fall into decadence or introduce forced labor, such as the chinese sweat shops and the soviet work camps. A true communist society will also never avance because there is no reason for anyone to invest time or money to research and development.

On norway, obviously this olav person had the intelligence to buy all the apartement and create a geographic monopoly and the ability to manage all of them to make a profit. Furthermore no one seemed to have the ability or the work ethic to create a competitive operation, so boo on them. I dont see it as bad, I see it as natural selection. I you can think I'm a cold, souless, meiser, but in my profession the lazy and the stupid get people killed, so you'll have to understand why I find laziness aborant and unacceptable.

On socialism, its not really stealing, you just take about 30 percent of what the working man makes and give it to a deadbeat who wont work and manages to get on wellfare.

On guevera, hes wansn't a political activist at all, at least not really. More often than not he was nothing more than Castro's attack dog, and thousands died at his hands. (note, I don't think the dictator in cuba was much better than the communist government in cuba, but life invariably sucks for the general populace under both regimes)

On hitler, as soon as hilter come into the argument the intelligence of the conversation drops sharply, leave the facist dictator out of this.

I mentioned Hitler only because I reacted on the way people compared him with Che Guevara.

When it comes to Norway, do you think that a man that does nothing else but buying apartments should be very, very rich? What he does is feeding on those who need a place to live. That does not make the community stronger, as it leaves a big number of students in a desperate need of somewhere to sleep. Whether he is smart or not, he is feeding on the society to fill his own pockets. And now he does not have to do anything anymore, as he got enough real estate to be rich for the rest of his life. Long live laziness, anyone?

On the competition idea, us red believe it is better to cooperate on something, rather than compete about it. In a competitive society, small corporations are being squeezed out of the market by the big ones, which instead of making a stronger community, makes a possibility for monopoly. Once a monopoly is introduced, the corporation can make as much money as they want to.
