I've never actually seen that opera, its just a reference to my favorite flower :3
That's okay, I was wondering because, that opera has a part where a man mistakes the vixen hidden in the sunflowers for a girl he loves. When he starts professing his love the vixen gets swept away by the feeling of being told I love you. Thought it was a reference to that.
