Right, you have a great point there. I never thought of it that way, that without his fathers influence he might not longer think like that.
I just assumed he would stay slightly snobbish because of his upbringing (getting most things that he wanted and the big manor).

But maybe that is more of a Draco thing than a Malfoy thing. xd (I do like that about him though, I think it makes the first books very interesting/funny and added more depth too his change later. However I think that it would stay with him  (to act slightly snobbish), not because of his character but just his upbringing and the way he uses it to hide sometimes.)
