Thanks! Everybody loves pirates. XD I'm glad my fixation with detail has paid off. Those arm markings are supposed to be a tribal tattoo, so I looked at some different designs and then tried to create one of my own for her to sport. As for her boomerangs, I wanted her to have a weapon for melee combat situations and then another for long-range attacks. I wanted something different from the norm.
Ah, I see. The tribal tattoo is a nice touch to add onto her character. May I ask what was the inspiration for this particular tribal tattoo?
Heh heh, boomerangs aren't really, at least as far as I know anyway, a weapon that aren't really used a lot in fiction even though they're pretty handy to have for long-range attacks and for melee combat situations. I think that was a brilliant idea to deviate from the norm and choose something you don't really see in a lot of fiction. May there be more boomerangs used in more fiction!
Oh, there wasn't one in particular I'm afraid. I just borrowed aspects from several different ones and tossed it all together.
I don't think I've seen them too often before either, and certainly not nowadays. I was in-depth reading about them on Wikipedia. I knew the Aborigines used them for hunting, but I guess I have trouble seeing modern-day boomerangs as lethal.

Ah, I see. Well, either way, the final design ended up paying off well. It's really nice. 
Hm, I think that even if boomerangs look easy to draw, it might turn out to be difficult because of the way they're designed. It's like if someone has to draw someone holding a boomerang that they get the angle right on the basis of whatever position the hand itself is in. At least, that's how I see it. But they are cool weapons all the same!
