That's true. That may explain why characters like Rotor are so inexplicably beloved by fandom in spite of being underdeveloped and not doing anything of importance. But I do think Sally can get away with giving Sonic a hard time more so then Sonia, Antoine, or Bart can. TBH, I can't even fault other characters for not liking Sonic. How is it realistic that everyone on Mobius love and worship him (I feel like that's what Sonic's fans want to happen anytime he interacts with someone)? Sonic is obnoxious and immature as heck, I'm sorry.
What are you talking about? Bart is rich and dislikes Sonic, therefore he is bad and stupid. I vaguely remember that scene. I get where Bart's coming from in that moment too, and it's frankly stupid to be mad at him for not knowing about what's going on with Aleena. But of course the writers weren't seeing things that way. It seems like the writers for the American canons can't depict aristocrats and nobility wth any kind of subtlety or complexity. I just Googled Mina to see how they drew her tail. It looks like they were going for some sort of Nack the Weasel type deal? But she's another character I want to redesign so that she's closer in appearance to her species (though mongooses and mink are from two different families[/nerd]). Gotta say that Mighty ad Bark look the worst to me. There's nothing about them that screams armadillo or polar bear. I also hate the new designs of the other Freedom Fighters.

What I think is funny is that fans give Sally, Sonia, Antoine, Bartleby, and etc. such a hard time for giving Sonic one, but if Shadow does it it's okay. At some point someone is not going to like the hero besides the villain. People just need to understand that with characters.
Lol... love the bit of sarcasm there. Unfortunately in America anyone who makes too much money is usually demonized. Not that wealthier people aren't terrible people. There are some that are corrupted. But Americans seem to tie wealth with being bad in some way shape or form. Kind of annoying really.
The issue with Bartleby is that fans think he's a bad person for not wanting to leave the life he has now to join the Resistance, which is hypocritical because you know those same people would act just like him. Honestly I can't blame the character. Why lose something for something else that clearly isn't working or taking it's sweet time in showing results? It's stupid and reckless. Not to mention if the evil guy ruling over you is technologically advanced, I wouldn't be surprised if he bugged places in your abode to spy on you. Fans just don't think about this. In mine and another buddies AU of the Sonic universe we don't have Bartleby tied to Robotnik, and he has turned out much better. Than again, he isn't as wealthy in that world. Still doing better than others though. But that's because rich does equal bad.
If they toned down Boom!Knuckles' stupidity I think people would like him a tad better. Personally I like Boom!Knuckles compared to X!Knuckles. I can tolerate stupid but goofy as opposed to smarter and ready to explode at the drop of a hat.
At least I was close. They were sort of easier to pinpoint than other characters. Bear and Mighty aren't too far off from their species. You can guess better than Bartleby or Antoine. Then again... It's sorta all in the tail ;3
If Sally and NICOLE are drawn right they look fine to me (Ben Bates' redesign of Sally looked terrible and that's why I hated it at first). I liked Bunnie and Rotors designs from when Sonic came back from space. It fit them. But now they look odd... Bunnie's roboparts look fine but the rest of her looks odd. Not digging the ponytail. Rotor just looks awful. He doesn't need to be that physically fit if he mostly sits around fiddling with technological stuff. Unless he works out on the side... I dunno
Antoine's design just ruins his backstory. The whole point of his shirt/jacket thing was to be tied to his family name. I just don't see him ditching that. Plus he looks odd being "naked" lol.
