Oouuu I should probably put that in there somewhere. Thanks! Ill put it here also.
Basically I'd look for a decent starting aptitude for digital software. I'd like for people to have some basic experience using any digital software. It doesn't have to be painter as there will be a thorough intro to getting started for complete newbies. This way I don't have to use time to cover things such as installing program files and troubleshooting basic computer use.
Acquiring the software for yourself. I can't provide it.
Having reasonably updated computer hardware to do heavy file work. Not 3D heavy, but multitasking between programs later on. There are optional painter add-ons for photoshop for effects brushes.
A desire to want to continue working traditionally alongside digitally or wanting to transition in some aspect from traditional to digital or vice versa.
Decent art skills are a bonus, but not completely necessary. As this is more of a technical class with supplemental art instruction, it will be targeted to most skill levels. However, if some students don't have the aptitude for art on a decent enough level, they may not get the best out of the lessons and Ill have to pass them over.
Ability to be consistent in learning. Able to put in a few hours a week to putting out work. Ill decide on assignments after the initial interest is assessed. I gave up painter 3 or 4 times when I started and it requires a bit more patience to get into a groove of using for some users. Milage may vary, but the software has stabilized immensely since then and I feel is far easier than it used to be.
Hope this helps!
