Thing is, this is probably more accurate.

Medusa was transformed by Athena into a gorgon after she was raped by Poseidon in the goddess' own temple. Athena blamed the mortal woman, despite her years of devotion as a priestess, refusing to hold her brother responsible. Probably after years of sorrowful isolation, petrifying anyone who came to her willingly or not, Athena decided to be rid of her once and for all, and sent Perseus to finish the deed. For the first time someone came to see her, smart enough to not be turned to stone on sight, it was a man come to kill her.

You have portrayed this wonderfully, from the shadowed and wrathful face of Perseus to the fearful tears of Medusa. Well done.
