I'm having the same issues as well. How did you manage to get yours to work??
After you apply the theme, you need to open this program called OldNewExplorer and on that check all the boxes except "enable glass on navigation bar,use alternative navigation buttons style,show details pane on the bottom and show status bar.
Apperance style must be set to: "Default style(windows 7 style/skin style)
Click install. You may want to restart your computer or explorer after that. That's it!
