:giggle: One of our least favorite pies....... so I juice them for tasty lemon juice in my iced tea... freezes very well  Also use to make "instant" buttermilk for cooking..... and once in a blue moon, I make lemon bars... but not too often for they are so fattening!! And I simply cannot leave them alone, until I've eaten them all! :chew: :w00t: They just taste so good! :D

:giggle: Not crazy about Key Lime pie, either........ Bob & I are the ultimate good ol' Chocolate cream fans!! :w00t:

 I wonder if all those year's in Australia ( Lemon and Orange Grove's to the side and rear, of our land ) has something to do with buying 4 - 6 Lemon's every week. Not only for the juice but they make excellent, ' Little Room ' cleaner, and bin freshener's and the skin's boiled in yucky pan's, clean's wonderfully.:eyepopping:.....Much as I LOVE the Chocolate, my favourite's are ' Pecan Pie ' and ' Pavlova '.....:chew: :chew:
By buttermilk....do you mean sour milk ( the sort I make Cream Cheese from ) you intentionally curdle. :rose:

:hmm: Gonna have to look up Pavlova ~ not familiar with that one.... we do love Pecan Pie.... but, unfortunately aren't very good at making one..... and our best place to buy one (when we are traveling) closed...... so haven't had a good one in a while... :cries:

"Instant buttermilk" can be used in recipes like Banana Bread, etc..... and is made by putting a tablespoon of lemon juice into a 1 cup measure, then filling the rest with sweet milk...... leave it sitting out on the counter where it is room temperature..... stir occasionally... and in about 15 minutes... it will begin to curdle..... and be ready to use  :D
I like buttermilk (and sometimes buy it at the store) but Bob detests the stuff..... so don't always keep it around..... for you've kind of got to be "in the mood" in order to even drink a quart container b4 it rots! :D

I so  the :chew: emoticons ~ I'm fascinated at the way they move! :shakefish: is another curiosity!

 Pecan Pie :chew:.....Mmmmm. I found the trick to a good filling, Simmer the pecan's on a very low heat, in a mix of Maple Syrup, Light Golden Syrup a tad of water....when softened, leave in the syrup over night. Add fine white breadcrumb's or semolina ( I prefer breadcrumbs ) to the mix, pour into a pastry base and bake. whilst still hot from the oven, spread a small amount of Maple syrup over the top to glaze. :hungry:

Yep, we used ' Buttermilk ' short hand for the milk has gone OFF AGAIN......
Milko' in Aus' came in the evening, so when the coolest part of the day was 3 am, when it dropped to 27 deg C. We got alot, without lemon juice...... but drink the stuff, NO WAY !!! You can find LOT's of way's to use the stuff, case of have to in the bush. :ninjaeat:

:ohmygod: went and searched for Pavlova recipe - found one - but :ohmygod: at the calorie count! :faint:  The meringue part isn't so fattening....... but the whipping cream for the filling :faint:
Does sounds yummy! Do Kiwis really eat kiwi fruit?? or do they just sell them all to the stupid Americans? :giggle:

:giggle: Loved the ninja slipping away with hot dog!!
