Btw, I spent some time there, resting after having seen a museum, the square was quite big, and just resting there with soviet songs in the phone...

Ahh yes, the memories of the past idealist ages. A sign that justice did triumph over evil for once.

To be honest... being there was far from being a "idealistic-memory of bast". It was much more "real/present-time", especially linked with the factor that here in europe WW2 is still a very important subject directly shaping events and present-time, especially with the current political turmoil and events.
That memorial stand like a bastion, a reminder of what has been done, and what will needs to be done.
