The orange tint is in the SSS settings which gets exaggerated by a combination of things in the scene, lighting, tone mapping etc- but I wanted the flaws in the skin to come through for realism- otherwise you might as well wrap everyone in Aiko's skin and be done with it.
I think NGS is unabashedly for closeups or large renders, there are already a glut of images on DA and the DAZ forums doing side-by-side comparisons with and without and the difference is stunning. Not everyone goes for the realism style though, so you're right it's not going to be useful for everyone.

Thank you :-D

Oh I see, you did the texture settings this way so that the color is like that.

Yeah, absolutely right, in really near close-ups you can see the pores of the skin, and the tone of the skin is somehow "fresher" if I can say it this way. Really good for portraits, or as you said large renders. :)

Sort of. I used extreme-closeup freckles which added the golden tinge and freckles. Under normal lighting I wouldn't want that dark orange hue, but different lights produce different results. But yes I did want realism and not a 'perfect' skin.
Exactly, it's all in what you use it for. :-D
