The plate for this print was made using 3-D fabric paint on illustration board.
The 3-D paint comes in a small bottle with a very fine applicator tip so I could draw with it. The paint stays in place and is about 2.0 - 2.5 mm high.
The plate is put through the press using damp paper -- a heavy 300gsm paper. The plate embosses the image into the paper. The result is, I guess, the negative. The plate is the positive. In the picture here it looks like the circle is raised but it's actually indented.
