Good thing Qrow showed up in time. :)

No, seriously, if one of my OCs would´ve shown up, Tyrian might not have made it back to Salem at all.
Argent would´ve let him go, but only to follow him.
Niob would´ve beaten the hell out of him and taken his weapons.
Sirena would´ve sent her army of invisible ninja-assasin-bodyguards at him (it could be an army, but it could just as well just be a small group of 5 or so. After all, noone´s ever seen them, including Sirena herself).
Talia would´ve made him look pretty and nice and all, played tag with him (a.k.a. making Tyrian so mad that he tries to kill her nd just running away from him) and, eventually, get him so tired that he just falls over.

No offense, But Tyrian is a professional killer that gave even Qrow a run for his money. If your oc's swore in the story. He'd easily defeat Argent, Niob and Sirena and while Talia was running around playing catch, Tyrian would be busy kidnapping Ruby

It´s ok. I mean, I didn´t exactly describe my OCs all that well. My Bad.
Anyway, I guess I´ll just fix this little mistake of mine now. :)

Argent Star is a snake faunus, with his faunus trait being a tail he can use pretty much like Tyrian uses his. The biggest difference there is that Argent´s tail is strong enough to crush basically any rock he can completely grasp with his tail.
His weapon of choice is a pair of wrist-mounted extendable short swords that can be imbued with dust to get various effects. The left one can also become a shield, while the right one doubles as a chain whip.
His semblance allows Argent to burst into a cloud of fog, allowing him to move without being noticable. He can also just evaporate partially, giving him an edge in combat as he knows everything going on in the fog, allowing him to dodge surprise attacks from professional snipers without even facing their direction.
Argent mostly specializes in swift, yet powerful, attacks, as well as quickly changing from close- to medium-distance combat and back. If he´s too far away from an opponent to attack, or when the opponent catches him off-guard, he evaporates to cover the distance and confuse his opponent. And, if all else fails, he can combine his semblance with dust.

Niob Bolt is a bat faunus, and his faunus trait is a pair of wings. While they can´t take him off the ground easily, he had them imbued with ice dust before going to Beacon, so he can shoot ice darts from them, coat them in ice to block attacks, or have objects freeze onto them.
His weapon of choice is a pair of dual-weilded short swords that double as fully automatic pistols. He also has a pumpgun that doubles as an axe (both one handed and two handed, depending on which he needs), as well as fake vampire teeth in his mouth that he imbued with fire dust, allowing him to breathe fire or spit them out and use them as mine. He also has a pair of shuriken launchers hidden in his sleeves, each holding 2 dust-imbued shuriken that move too fast for the human eye, giving off the impression he just had to point at something to make it explode in a giant lightning ball.
His semblance allows Niob to make shaows come to life when he touches the object, or being, casting the shadow. Both the shadow and the original need each other to exist, meaning that if one dies, the other dies, too. He mostly uses his semblance against Grimm, as a huntsman´s aura blocks the effect completely.
In combat, Niob follows a similar tactic as Batman, namely intimidating his opponents to finish them off more easily. He is a considerable threat at any distance, even if one does not know about or believe the rumors of him being a vampire. He´s not, but if people believe he was, they don´t mess with him, so he keeps up the facade.

Sirena Blue is a stonefish faunus, and her gills allow her to breathe under water without any problems.
Her weapon of choice, a golden telescope trident that can turn into a scepter with a red orb on top, was designed by Niob when he was bored, and he gave it to her since he didn´t need it as much as she did. Prior to that, she used a regular pitchfork. It can hold up to three vials of dust, usually two water and one ice, and she can shoot the dust in its elemental form from the three spikes of her trident.
Her semblance allows her to intoxicate other beings by mere physical contact, and while it originally only paralyzed the victim, she quickly learned to change the effects of the poison. She can also combine her semblance with dust, mostly using water dust to become so slippery that every attempt at melee combat fails. The poisonous effects of her semblance are blocked by aura, but the victim´s aura takes considerable damage, based on the type of poison she produces at that moment.
In combat, Sirena mostly carries herself with a certain elegance reminiscent of royalty. However, when a fight becomes personal, like when she is defending her honor, someone insults her home kingdom (it´s under water, btw), or when another silver eyed warrior is in danger, even her teammates keep their distance. Her fighting style becomes more aggressive, offensive and direct, but not less calculated and, you guessed it, toxic. She is a strategic genious, able to beat almost the entire Beacon staff in Remnant: The Game. Ozpin always refused her challenge, since he had better things to do.

Talia Star, Argent´s little sister, is a mouse faunus, and her trait is a tail as well. Yeah, their mom´s a lion faunus, and their dad´s a mosquito faunus.
She doesn´t have any weapons of her own, but she can use her fists, feet and tail in meele combat, and her mind is sharper than any katana. She stopped growing at a rather young age, making her look younger than Ruby, while in reality, she´s just a year younger than the rest of her team, and they graduated three years prior to the series. She uses her child-like appearance to great effect, mostly to fool others into thinking she was just an overly oblivious child. This gives her time to study her surroundings, as well as her opponents and any bystanders, and when a fight is unavoidable, she can fall back on her knowledge of martial arts, as well as her abbility to process virutally any information ten times faster than any computer. When she hears a gunshot, she can almost immediately tell the model and the distance, allowing her to predict the bullet´s path and block it with relative ease by using her tail like a baseball bat.
Her semblance allows Talia to turn into a ghost, meaning that she becomes invisible and intangible, thus being freed from gravity and such. In this state, she can posess inanimate objets, such as scrolls, to send herself all across Remnant and literally copy/paste knowledge directly into her brain. She can also posess dust, which allows her to control the vary forces of nature around her. For this very purpose, she always carries a few earth- and air dust crystals around.
In combat, Talia is basically like she always is: Fast, energetic, and problematic. She mastered over 20 martial arts in record time (remember the "copy/paste knowledge directly into her brain" part?), and has developed her own fighting style based on what she saw in the Vytal Tournament. Should an opponent get out of her reach, which is a very common problem for her, she simply turns into a ghost, walks up to the opponent and rematerializes, before she starts covering them in an endless barrage of punches, kicks and tail thrusts. And, if all else fails, she can posess the air or earth around herself. She may have copied that trick from a Geist...

Back at Beacon, the four of them, Team ANST, would often fight against one another in 1-on-3 matches. They actually did that every day, unless they were on a mission, and each week, another one of them would take the place of the one fighting the other three. This let all three of them become very skilled in combat, as well as allowing them to fight a greater number of opponents, as well as opponents who are able to take down various enemies at once.

Also, about Tyrian giving Qrow a run for his money: I think Qrow didn´t want to defeat Tyrian, but simply allow Ruby and the others to escape.
And if Ruby hasn´t been there, I´m pretty sure Qrow would´ve won.

Well their interesting characters. But they seem way to overpowered. Oc's should have limits. They definitely cannot be made out to be stronger then the official characters from the fandom their in. It's just my personal opinion. But I really think you should tone down their powers a bit

Well, The group were clearly to tired to escape and knowing who Tyrian was. Or rather working for. I think Qrow would have definitely taken him out given the chance. But I do agree that Qrow was only beaten. (Poisoned) Because of Ruby's misstep.
Kartoffelkamm's avatar
Yeah, I agree on both things. Also:
they´re*
than*

But, in my defense: I wanted to keep it as short as possible, because I´ve often times been asked by various people to not write overly long comments anymore (guess that can be considered one of my biggest weaknesses).

Anyway, they do have a wide variety of weaknesses. First off, their aura isn´t infinite, obviously. Land enough hits and they´re without a defense.
1. Argent, being a snake faunus, can´t stand cold climates. Below 5°C he starts to get slow, disoriented and overall pretty sh*tty at being a huntsman.
2. Niob, believe it or not, is allergic to garlic.
And, as I said already, his wing´s can´t get him off the ground whenver he wants to. He needs winds at a certain speed to achieve flight. Usually he jumps from the third floor of a building, or Argent launches him into the air by using his tail like a spring, but in any other scenario, his wings are completely useless at the one job they were made for.
3. Sirena is a bit of a princess. Ok, actually she´s a queen, but you get the idea. She never had to ask for anything, and she has a very short temper when things don´t go her way. She literally went for Ozpin´s throat when he made Argent the team leader instead of her, and it took both Glynda and Professor Port to get her off of him. She also has a certain fondness for water, which can turn into a deliberating obsession if she was away from it for too long. Her morals are also nearly non-existant, which got her banned from the Vytal Tournament for lifetime...
Also, her semblance is a double-edged sword. When combining it with dust, she covers herself entirely in the respective type of dust, meaning that she would drown without her gills when using water dust. Also, covering herself in water only blocks melee attacks, such as blades and blunt weapons, but bullets and sut-based attacks still hit, and when the opponent hits her with fire, it creates a cloud of steam. Also, ice-based attacks completely immobilize her, and electric shocks become more effective than they already are. Yep, she´s got an above-average weakness against everything that goes BZZZT. When using ice dust, a hit with water freezes the area as well.
4. Talia is a bit more obvious, actually. She´s small, unarmed and, well, small. Sure, any normal opponent has nearly no chance of landing a counter attack due to her rapid attacks, but any opponent with more than 4 limbs, especially Niob with his two wings, can find an opening and knock her back with a well-placed hit. And when using her semblance, she doesn´t cease to exist, obviously. Anyone with enough training could learn to consciously detect aura, and would then be able to track her every move, even when she uses her semblance. Once someone can do that, and knows of her true combat skills, she´s pretty much lost.

And, just because I´ve got some time left until Steven Universe starts, here some more ways of how Sirena could theoretically use her semblance:
Fire dust would cover her in fire, which would actually damage her aura constantly, meaning she´d have to finish the fight fast. Anything she´d come into physical contact with would get burnt, and would it not be for her protective aura, this would include herself as well.
Earth dust would cover her in a green energy that greatly increases her overall defense, but it´d get harder for her to breathe or see.
Air dust would cover her in, well, air. She´d be much more agile, as well as immune to poisonous gasses or covert observation by Argent´s semblance, but having an air buble between yourself and virutally anything else isn´t that good, as she´d constantly get pulled around by gravity. On the plus side, she´d make for a great indicator for the lowest point in a given area.
Lightning dust would cover Sirena in lightning, and while it would have shocking effects on anything and anyone that comes near, this also counts for her. Her clothes, which I like to imagine as a mix of steampunk and post-apocalyptic clothing, also would become magnetic.
Steam dust, which she actually used once, doesn´t do much at first glance. However, when she gets hit, or moves fast enough, she leaves behind a trail of steam. Using aura manipulation, she can also unleash a pulse of the dust type´s elemental form, meaning that she could completely cover an area in thick fog in an instant if she wanted to. However, thick fog reminds her of the time she almost got killed by a pack of shark-like Gimm, and re-creating such an traumatic event is generally a bad idea, especially when dealing with someone whose offensive fighting style got her the nickname The Shark of Sanus.
Gravity dust would be a very bad idea. She´d completely cover herself in a field of gravity, each partical of her aura being as heavy as herself (aura is energy, energy travels in waves, every wave has a correcsponding particle). I´ll spare you the boring science-y details and just jump to the final statement: There´d be hundreds of singularities all around her (I´ll let wikipedia handle the explaination here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitat…). The singularities would tear her apart, then merge with one another and form a human-sized black hole, which is a big deal considering a black hole the size of a coin would be enough to destroy the planet. :)

But those don't really count was weaknesses? I mean, Garlic? That's hardly going to be used against him in battle. Also Cold climate, There's mandatory, Not a official weakness

Also, Sirena losing her temper and needing Glynda and Port to get her off Ozpin, Believed to be one of the most powerful characters in the show. That's a character flaw but the scene express she has a extreme amount of power
Kartoffelkamm's avatar
Of course cold climates counts as weakness. For example, ice dust based attacks can render Argent defenseless, even if they don´t hit him directly. He can´t go to Atlas, which put his team in trouble a few times already, and sometimes the winters in Vale get so cold he has to go to Vacuo for a few months.
Sounds a lot like a weakness to me.

And sure, barely anyone will ever get the idea to throw garlic at their opponent, but who said a weaness had to be combat related? Niob is allergic to garlic, which is actually a more valid weakness than a specific attack form being more effctive than others, as it can kill him25/7.
And Niob´s wings are pretty useless indoors, in confined spaces, or when there´s no high enough place to jump off of. Sure, Argent can help out sometimes, but if there just isn´t enough space, that won´t work either.

And just because Sirena managed to tackle Ozpin to the ground doesn´t mean she´s stronger than him. He just knew of her short temper and expected something like this. And why would he use his powers against a student who just enrolled at Beacon?
Also, Sirena never had to do any form of physical work until she was old enough to enroll at Beacon, and without the team´s special training, she would´ve gotten herself killed on their first mission...

Lastly: What do you mean by "official weakness"? Is there some sort of universal rulebook that lists everything that counts as a character´s weakness or something?
No offense, but it sounds a bit ridiculous, don´t you think?

Also, those were just the non-personality flaws. Well, except for Sirena. I got her personality flaws and her non-personality flaws out in one go. The other´s personality flaws follow now:

Argent is a bit manipulative sometimes. He´s well known across Vale for trying to make shopkeepers look racist towards faunus to get a discount on stuff he wants. The only reason he´s not yet in jail is because what he does is not against any laws.

Niob holds a huge grudge against Atlas military and the Schnee Dust Company. Ok, and the White Fang. Long sotry short: A bunch of people f*cked up and now all his friends and family are in jail for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Needless to say his emotions tend to get the better of him if he´s around any of the involved parties, which mostly results in the ice dust in his wings decreasing the surrounding temperature.

Talia is pretty intelligent. Yeah, not a flaw in on itself, but she can often times be too smart for her own good. She´ll gladly, and loudly, argue over everything with everyone for any reason, and she talks very fast, making it hard for others to understand her. And sometimes, she gets so lost in thought that he forgets anything around her, either focusing on calculations, programs or machines, which can keep her occupied for several days in a row. Another common scenario is that she tries to manage several conversations at once, and while this isn´t a problem for her in cyberspace, it ends in a verbal catastrophe in the real world.
Yeah, she´s spent so much time in the virtual world that she occasionally forgets that her limits in the virtual world are different from her limits in the physical world.

To be fair, You're writing so long to try and prove your point but it's not working. All I'm seeing is you mentioning immaterial weakenesses that couldn't even be used against  them and speaking more about how incredibly strong they, Clearly made to be superior to team RWBY

And my point is, There's no way in hell your OC would get even close to touching Ozpin, Let alone knocking him over and needing others to get her off. Just not gonna happen.

Making oc's is fine. But don't try to make them outshine the offical characters but it makes them Mary Sues and everybody hates Mary Sue's
