Yes, of course, slavery is nothing new in Africa, but not just in islamic countries.

Bosnia or Albania have different standards than some Angola or Eritrea.

I mentioned South Africa because it is often celebrated by Liberals and Left how Mandela made it to modern, progressive, LGBT friendly countrie but, let see the results.

Clandestine slavery is one thing, but the more fundamentalist Muslim areas of the world to this day view the practice as a religious right of conquest in their holy-ordained war against infidels, and conduct their dealings openly with the full blessing of their Shariah Law elders.  It is medieval.
