Wow, a traditional painting, it is not something we see often here on Deviantart, you should keep this up It's sad that nowadays everybody seems to paint digitally instead, it's always good to find some works done with the good old methods! I really like how you painted the boy, I cannot paint humans, they just end up looking like a mess if I do. The proportions are well done and I like the green reflections on the boy's jeans. The pose and the expressions are also very good The boy's ear is a bit too big, though, it should not pass the line of the eyebrows. Now here goes what you can improve on: I am a little bit confused about the monster's lower part, it is not clear what it is doing and it seems as if the lower part is depicted in a frontal view while the head is a side view (the side view fits the scene better). Also you need to pay attention to the colors, the tree over the boy's head is mostly the same brown as the rock he is climbing on. You need to distinguish it more as the tree is in the background but it blends together with the boy's head and it seems like a crown of branches. Adding a bit of a grey to the background or just making it lighter would help. You used very little paint and the canvas is visible, I think you don't need to spare with the paint! You can lay down more layers of acrylics for a better effect. Anyway, this is a great piece with just some flaws, you can get better with practice! I hope you find my comment useful somehow!
