((I'll do it. Here we go!))

It was around 1PM in Jack's apartment, and the door was still open as he stared at his new roommate....

Ordinarily, he was a friendly individual, always willing to meet new people as needed. Even after his 'Danger-Sense' (as he so described it) had manifested itself, he never let it get him down. In fact, he desired to put this new power to use, and so he dedicated himself to learning how to be a worthy detective on the force, something he had always dreamed of doing since he was a kid....

Right now, however, his Danger-Sense was now telling Jack that this lady (who he had to admit, looked fairly attractive) was MASSIVE trouble. The large red 10 floating above her head told him all he needed to know... but it was too late to turn her away....

Swallowing his fear, Jack forced a small smile to come to his face and said, "Oh, hello there.... you must be my new roommate. So... what is your name?"

"The name is Cassandra, but please - call me Cassie." The young woman says with a grin, her shoulders relaxed and brown eyes dancing. She had a small frame, but seemed strong in her own sense - that, along with the pixie cut her black hair was in gave her a punkish look.
"Seriously though; wicked apartment. I promise not to be a noisy roomate though." She mentions playfully, winking. "I'm honestly sure we will get along just fine."

"Heh, you're right.... it beats being alone," Jack answered back, a little flustered by Cassie's playful nature, then said, "Name's John Harding... but just call me Jack. Everyone else does..."

Keeping his guard up and remembering where he hid objects to defend himself with, Jack showed Cassie around his apartment, finishing with where her room would be.

"And here is your room..." Jack motioned to the empty space (save for the bed, TV, and dresser), "Feel free to decorate it how you like. If we're going to share this apartment, I at least want to make you feel at home here..."

"Dang, nice set up." She nods, listening carefully before smiling. "I got some boxes in my car, so yeah - I'll probably wind up bringing those in." She chuckles, shrugging.
"Thanks for letting me move in with barely a warning - I hadn't realized I'd need to move until I got the news, a big surprise and all that jazz y'know?"

"Heh, well I will admit, your sudden appearance was a big surprise..." Jack answered back, then smirked a little and added, "...but a good kind of surprise, just for the record."

At the mention of bringing her boxes inside, he asked, "I can help move them in for you, if you like... may I?"

It seemed like an elaborate ploy for something devious, so he made the offer cautiously...

"Oh, gosh you are a livesaver right now. I would honestly love the help." Cassie sighs in exaggerated relief, trying to be funny. "In all seriousness, the help is appreciated. Just no looking in my clothing, yeah? Honor and chivalry, and all that business." She starts walking out, laughing a bit.
"It's not much - clothing, some personal objects, and my computer gear. I move light."

Jack smirked a little as he emptied her trunk and started hauling a couple of boxes inside. As he walked with her, he said, "Heh, I gotta say, I like your attitude... you're a far cry from the last person I was living with, so maybe this could turn out pretty exciting..."

Once he brought her stuff inside, he decided to ask, "So what exactly do you do for a living, Cassie?"

She had about six boxes, but it was unsurprising since she had said she was a light mover. Cassie shrugs at the question, going back to that easygoing smile. "I plan on setting up shop around here to be a - no laughing now - freelance journalist. I'm currently running a 'blog' that, thankfully, helps bring in income. Hence the computer equipment, she's my baby. Not too shabby, if I say so myself. What about you, Jack? What do you do for a living?"
