I really lover how detailed it is! I must admit, however, I find it a bit sad to have it encased in resin and gold. Its so nice here. Though I understand it was probably really fragile

It was necessary. Smallest watch parts are not durable enough to be worn as jewellery. As the matter of fact it would be impossible even to send this kind of work by courier if it wasn't secured by resin.
Wings are especially delicate...
I have to make my works a bit "idiot-resistant"*, because it will assure them a long life.

*I don't think my customers are idiots. I just want to mark, that everyone wants to touch them... not only children. And when it is "naked" without resin, then one has to know, where it can be grabbed, and how to hold it.

Oh yeah, I completely understand that! It would be such a shame if it were to travel a long way only for such a beautiful thing to be broken. Even if it did make it past the journey, I could just see someone picking it up and snapping part of the wing or dropping it. Talk about making your heart sink. I wish there was some way to make it more durable.
It's still a beautiful piece, though! You did an excellent job

I know a few artists like to keep their techniques secret, but how did you put this little critter together? I know its made of watch parts, gears, and axes, but did you screw it all together or wire it? Or maybe coated with some kind of polymer? Im curious if there is such a way to make it more durable, even if but a little. I mean, I cant imagine it'll be idiot-proof, but perhaps a bit more resilient if, say, it were dropped.

Durability is not only about connections between parts. Watch parts are prepared to work in a special way - each of them has some function in mechanism. Even if these metal elements are very hard, they are also thin and simply fragile. Prepared to work as a part of mechanism, not to be bested head of miniature creature.
Some bigger elements are definitely easier to use...

About techniques secrets: I make it carefully :)
There is a few people who try to make copies of my projects, so I don't "sell" my technology - all that I can do now took me nearly 6 years of learning, testing and trying...
